On Monday afternoon, boat owners walked onto the Chestertown Marina floating dock to tie down their lines, coolers, and floaties, and to double-check that everything was spick and span before the anticipated arrival of Tropical Storm Isaiah.

The wind was mighty, as was the rain. Water rushed towards storm drains which were already clogged with leaves. Sticks and sodden flower petals lay on the un-walked walkways as the sun peeked through the ceiling of clouds.

The water at the foot of High Street was over the dock — a usual occurrence after an excessive amount of rain. A small repair barge was tied to the dock, too, with water flowing under it onto the brick walkways.

Isaias, you were kind to Chestertown.
