Dear Friends of CHT,
The Church Hill Theatre, Inc’s Annual Giving Campaign has begun. This is a time when we ask our supporters to give generously to support special programs and theater operations. While we had to close our doors to the public for performances, we have taken this opportunity to assess our building and the use of theater space.
Some of our initiatives during these many, many “dark nights” have been supported by a number of volunteers in the green room, costumes, workshop and outside the theater. Other initiatives have been completed by professionals and include updates and improvement to the electrical system, fire alarm system and information technology systems in both the office and theater buildings.
Online program offerings have included a small but excellent Summer Workshop, three Zoom performances: Local Playwright, Earl Lewin’s Judge Knott, Max Major through a collaboration with Bloomington Playwrights Program, and next weekend An Eastern Shore Adaptation of The War of the Worlds, sponsored in part by Unity Church Hill Nursery, and Maryland State Arts Council.
In the next few weeks, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Tom Rhodes, will send letters of request for Annual Giving. If you would like to give to CHT directly on our website in place of receiving the physical letter, I encourage you to make your donation in advance of November 2nd, thus “saving the trees”.
As we approach the season change, Tina Johnson and I want to wish you and your loved ones a safe and healthy holiday season. This has been a tremendously challenging year and everyone at CHT so look forward to sharing new live theater productions and creating new memories together very soon.
Sincerely,
Carmen Renee, Executive Manager
The Church Hill Theatre, Inc.
