The Church Hill Theatre has served the region with live performances or nearly four decades, but that came to a sudden halt in March when Gov. Larry Hogan closed all non-essential businesses in order to bring the coronavirus pandemic under control.

With the theatre temporarily closed, the nonprofit is planning for a brighter future with renovations and programming. But the future is indeed tenuous, and a protracted shutdown could threaten the theatre’s future without community-wide support.
