If you are looking for breakfast on the go, we have choice in this area: from national fast food to locally chef-owned establishments. In downtown Chestertown, there is a growing selection of breakfast menus. Whether you are driving into town or walking from home or work, you can find something interesting to get fuel in the morning.
Figg’s Ordinary has a strong entry: the Breakfast Sandwich. It starts with chef/owner Ingrid Hansen’s house-made English muffin.
The gluten-free muffin is toasted and filled with scrambled eggs or egg whites.
“The cheddar and onions are packaged inside the eggs-bodega style omelet of scrambled eggs filled with the caramelized onions and cheddar (dairy free option available) all folded up into a neat package and placed on the toasted muffin,” said Hansen.
Figg’s Ordinary offers excellent La Colombe coffee and gives a discount if you bring your own cup.
Figg’s Ordinary serves breakfast Tuesday-Saturday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. The menu includes fruit, oatmeal, yogurt and granola. The shop is located at 207 S. Cross Street, Unit 102, in Chestertown. You can order in person, by calling 443-282-0061, or order online at https://www.figgsordinary.com/menus or through the ODEKO app. (The ODEKO app is available for download from the Apple store. It is designed with small independent coffee shops in mind.)
