Update: Due to the forecast of rain all day on Thursday, Beracah has rescheduled the arrival of the house to Wednesday, October 28 around 10:00.

Kent Attainable Housing announced today that its first affordable home project, the Garnet House, will arrive Oct. 29 Oct 28 at 10 a.m. The process will take several hours and require a crane to place the two story, three bedroom home on College Avenue across from the Bethel A.M.E Church.

“It took a community to get to this point,” said Kent Attainable Housing President Lani Seikaly in a statement. “We appreciate your support to make this a reality.”

Over the next month, groups of volunteers will finish out the site work in time for the new homeowners to move in before the holidays.

The new home will be on the site of the original Garnet High School.
