Madden Fitness at Washington Square reopens Friday, June 19 after a three-month shutdown ordered by Gov. Larry Hogan to flatten the infection rate of COVID-19.

It couldn’t come sooner for owner Sean Madden, who had to shut down only seven months after making the biggest investment of his life to fulfill the dream of opening a fitness center.

During his first seven months, he built a good clientele ranging from 11 to 80, and anticipates his numbers will grow even more as further restrictions are lifted in the coming months.

He said the gym has policies and procedures in place — in line with CDC and local guidelines — to keep customers safe going forward.

In the four-minute interview, Madden discusses his resolve over the last three months to enhance the gym and weather the storm until reopening.
