In attempt to reduce the movement of the public while balancing the need to ensure due process and public safety, Maryland Court of Appeals Chief Judge Mary Ellen Barbera has issued a detailed order outlining changes in court operations in the state, including in filing deadlines in criminal and juvenile matters.

Bail reviews, bench warrants, arraignments, and other emergency hearings will be held.

Additionally, petitions for domestic violence and other peace orders should contact the District Court Commissioner’s office in Kent County.
