She was born in Topporz, Slovakia on January 26, 1929 the daughter of the late John and Katharina Kanya Bsullak. She moved to Czechoslovakia in 1946 after WWII. She then moved to the United States in October of 1947 where she met and on December 29, 1951 married Michael Emil Lepter. He predeceased her on July 9, 1996.
Mrs. Lepter helped out on the farm until age 80, raising thousands of calves in her lifetime. She was a hard worker her whole life, cooking meals for her sons up until her death. She loved people and having visitors stop by the house.
Mrs. Lepter was a devoted mother to her children and proud to be a grandmother to 9 and great grandmother to 12. She was devoted to her church, Trinity Lutheran Church. She loved flowers, especially her geraniums every spring, gardening, and walking up and down her farm lane.
Oma (Grandmother) as she was affectionately known will also be remembered for baking her traditional German dishes and sharing them with family and friends. She will be surely missed by all her family and friends.
She is survived by her children: Ernest Lepter, Hilda Bishton, William Lepter, and Alfred Lepter, nine grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Chestertown, MD. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday February 17th from 10:30am-12:30pm at Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home 130 Speer Road Chestertown. Interment will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
