Elizabeth Carter Draper Brice of Centreville, MD passed away on March 24, 2021 at her home. She was 83.
Born on August 25, 1937 on Cloverfields Farm in Wye Mills, MD, she was the daughter of the late Julius Herbert Carter and Martha Greenewalt Carter. She grew up in the Wye Mills and Queenstown area and graduated from Centreville High School, Class of 1955, where she was President of the class.
She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Union Memorial and in 1959 she married John W. Draper.
They resided in Centreville and after working in nursing for a few years she left to begin running Draper Brother’s Liquors after her husband passed in 1976 and retired in 2016. In 1985 she married John Brice. He preceded her in death in 2001.
Liz served on many community organizations including the Queenstown Bank Board, Centreville Planning and Zoning, Character Counts, Maryland Association of the Boards of Education, Chesapeake College Board of Trustees, and Midshore Community Foundation.
Liz is survived by her children John W. Draper, Jr and wife Tricia; Brian B. Draper; Edward C. Draper and wife Mary; step children Marjorie Brice; Ruth Davis and husband Jason; John Brice, Jr and wife Jane; grandchildren Ellen; Jack; Ben; Sam; Tom; Elaine; Maddie; Andrew; James; Lauren; Braedon; Brice; Addison; and sister Mary Davy Pippin. She was predeceased by her brothers Thomas Henry Callahan, III and James Herbert Carter.
Services will be held privately.
