Franklin Ernest (Frank) Price, Jr., who grew up in Fairlee, MD, and most recently resided in Chestertown, MD, died on February 4, 2021 at his home. He was 75.

He was born in Chestertown, MD on April 24, 1945, the son of the late Franklin E. Price, Sr. and Hester Leaverton Price. He was a graduate of Chestertown High School class of 1963. After school, he went into the U.S. Army from 1963-1966. He was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany, where he held several positions: Field Communications Lineman, truck driver, and later as the Training NCO for the 92nd Transportation, at the rank of Sgt. E-5. He was honorably discharged in 1966.

He then worked for the Maryland State Police as a Police Communications Operator for 25 years, then worked at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge as a Telecommunications Operator, until he retired in 2006, after 30 years of state service. He has also worked for 2 years as an over-the-road truck driver with the Preston Trucking Company, and part-time at the Queen Anne’s Bowling Center as a pinsetter and mechanic.

He is a member of AARP, American Legion in Chestertown, Police Dispatcher, Inc., and the United States Bowling Congress as an active member.

He is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Knapp of Chestertown, MD, Rebekah Wallace and her late husband, Phillip Wallace, of Kennedyville, MD; sister, Cindy Bowers and her husband Robert of Chattanooga, TN; five grandchildren, who he loved very much and was very proud of, Phillip, Jr., Logan Melson (Josh), and Alayni Wallace of Kennedyville, MD and Ashley and Zachary Knapp of Chestertown, MD; great-grandson, Michael James Plummer, Jr.; one niece, Kristen, and great-niece Jezmin Bowers of Chattanooga, TN; all of whom he loved very much, and enjoyed the time that he had with them.

Services will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home 130 Speer Road Chestertown where relatives and friends may call one hour prior to the service (12-1).
