Mr. Hayman was born May 22, 1954 in Ingleside, MD the son of the late Kenneth Hayman Sr. and Ruth Anna “Laramore” Hayman. James attended both Queen Anne’s and Kent County High Schools. He worked with a few local farmers for a while and spent a few years working with local race horses before going to Starkey Farms where he worked as a crop manager for over 30 years before retiring in 2020. Mr. Hayman was an avid bowler in his day and was a huge baseball, football, and NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed hunting and crabbing with friends and family.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Pinder and two brothers, Frances Hayman and Steve Hayman.
He is survived by his wife Vanessa Hayman of Galena, MD; two daughters, Anna Hayman of Chestertown, MD, and Julie Neukam of Chestertown, MD; one son, Luke Hayman of Galena, MD; one granddaughter, Mackensie Egolf of Chestertown, MD; three sisters, Bonnie Thomas of Smyrna, DE, Betty Ann Williamson of Federalsburg, MD, and Debbie Goodman of Chestertown, MD; two brothers, Donald Hayman of Queenstown, MD and Kenny Hayman of Millington, MD; as well as ten nieces and nephews, Lora, Chris, Doug, Tom, Travis, Meredith, Tabetha, Tanya, Tracy and Donnie.
A Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 16, 2021 from 3-4pm at Fellows Family Funeral Home 370 Cypress St. Millington, MD. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of James Hayman may be directed to support the University of Maryland Thoracic Surgery/Oncology Fund. Please make checks payable to: UMMS Foundation.
