William Thomas Lynch, ‘Tommy’ of Chestertown, MD, passed away on April 27, 2020 in Christiana Hospital. He was 75.

Tommy was born on July 11, 1944, son of the late Wm. Thomas Lewis Lynch and Mary Emily Willis Lynch. He was a lifetime resident of Chestertown and a 1962 graduate of Chestertown High School. He began his career with Baltimore Business Forms, working as a pressman and retiring as a supervisor after 32 years of service. He also worked for Cooper’s and Rathells.

Tommy was a wood craftsman, building fine furniture for family and friends and for 20 years he built and sold wooden toys out of Christmas Country Store in Great Mills, MD. He enjoyed carving decoys, and other small carved figures.

Tommy and his wife Meg volunteered at the Easton Waterfowl Festival for 25 years, which they enjoyed. In his early years, he was very involved in go-cart racing with his father and enjoyed model airplanes.

Since the age of 16 he was active with CVFC, serving 25 years on the fire suppression side and had served as high as 1st assistant chief for a number of years.

Tommy is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margaret Ann ‘Meg’ Vickers Lynch; daughter Patricia Morris of Chester, MD and 2 granddaughters, Rachel Michelle Morris (fiancé Dustin Lipscomb) Smyrna, DE and Trisha Lynn Morris (Derek Reed) Clayton, DE

A private graveside service will be held.

Donations may be offered to Chestertown Vol. Fire Co. or Kent & Queen Anne’s Rescue Squad.
