Kent County began Week-17 of Kent’s vaccination program with a COVID-19 positivity rate of 4.16 percent after having the lowest rate in the state last week at .77 percent, said Kent County Health Officer William Webb.

Kent still falls below the state positivity rate of 5.8 percent.

Last week, during Week-16 of the program, the county administered 345 first doses of the Moderna vaccine and zero second doses. Webb said this was due to completion of all the second-dose appointments in Week-15.

The health department currently has 440 doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine in inventory, which will be administered over the next two weeks, Webb said. There’s only one shot required to complete the immunization process with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
